I'm almost recovered from CES and today I started digging through a number of unopened boxes of things I have acquired over the past month and what should appear? The third box opened had something hiding inside it that I was not aware existed. Anybody???

Quadraphonic cartridges
ReplyDeleteCouple of links
This is a rare semiconductor ("strain-gauge") cartridge, it is neither MM nor MC nor ceramic/piezoelectric. It used the sophisticated Shibata stylus. Replacement needles are available at LPgear, etc.
Note that for using it you need a special Panasonic/Technics amp/receiver/preamp (one with "semiconductor" pickup input)

I have the EPC-450C EPC-450CII EPC-451 EPC-460 but this was the first EPC-465 I have laid my grubby paws on. I also know where you can get a pretty good "after market" setero preamp for these babies :-)
ReplyDeletea pick of some of my collection is at the link below.
